Change of Pace

Well I'm sick of reading and writing about wingnuts. So let's look at some pictures from my boys' latest trip to Big Bend National Park with their dad, just a couple of weeks ago:

Don't know about you, but I feel MUCH better!

Thanks, HD!

Those views looking out over the mountains are from atop the cliffs at what is called the South Rim at the southernmost tip of the park and they look out over Mexico. It is quite spectacular.

It's funny, Big Bend both shatters and confirms many common stereotypes of Texas, and of course much of the area around the park (and the park itself) has been popular with filmakers (think "No Country For Old Men"). But if you really want to see country that is the OPPOSITE of Texas stereotype, you should see the swamps and piney woods of deep East Texas! The area where I live, the Central Texas hill country surprises a lot of people too.

Gorgeous, and yes I have plans to go back and raft on the Rio Grande with that view in the background
