Just wonderin'
On my way into work this morning, I passed our town's animal shelter that has a sign outside - like the kind you see in front of some churches - that said: Man is Dog's idea of what God is. That thought made me really, really sad and then I thought, Do you suppose Man has it as wrong as Dogs do?

I think there is much more to God than what our limited brain capacity allows us to comprehend.
I certainly reject the notion that God is some kind of egomaniac who condemns billions and billions of people to eternal torment because they failed to adequately stroke his ego by not worshipping him in the right way or by not believing in him to begin with.
Such heresy! You must immediately say 3 Hail Marys and forgo your usual Milk Bones bedtime snack!
My vote is mankind is luckier than it knows and wishes to supplant the terrifying void with a deity.
At least dogs know when "their God" is a shit and deserves a bite.
I certainly have known some dogs who I believe to have achieved a higher state of consciousness than most, okay some (NOT you two!), men I know.
Dog morality is that unconditional love we don't get quite high enough for. They're kind enough to let us try our best without criticizing, but leading by example,
