While the match was going on, I was in comments at Eschaton, where other commenters kept the rest of us up on what was going on. I watched InDepth, Katha Pollitt, and was thrilled to hear her say she enjoys Echidne of the Snakes' blog. Echidne stayed up last night to have the pleasure of hearing it for herself. Very nice.
There's a picture of this guy on the front page of my New York Times this morning writhing on the ground and looking to be in great agony. But the caption says that he is "celebrating" his victory at Wimbeldon. OK, then.
Off topic a bit: I also watched the Williams sisters singles final, and during play they both slipped a few times on the patches of ground where the grass had worn away. But one time, Serena did an almost-to-the-ground full-out split, legs splayed out sideways and damn if she didn't use her tennis raquet to push herself back up and just went right on playing like it was no big deal! Ouch!
