Galveston II, this happened before, and was the worst natural disaster in U.S. history. Some areas that have recurring floods have started building structures on floats. That might be a very good idea.

A tree branch the size of a telephone pole fell on my in-laws' house in Houston and put a huge hole in their roof. The next day the ceiling in their living room collapsed. Thank God no one was hurt as my 67-year-old father-in-law was climbing on the roof in 90 mph winds in the middle of the night trying to patch holes with tar paper and shingles. They may be without power for weeks.
I'm driving up there tomorrow to help with the cleanup.

Hope you Texans are all doing OK.

Thanks freewheel! We're doing fine here in central Texas. We have a lot of refugees in San Antonio, and some of their stories are heartbreaking. We appreciate your kind thoughts.
