God Bless You, Dr. McNabb!

From today's San Antonio Express-News:
Identifying ‘grave evil’

In his comment on Wednesday, “Voters must know stances on ‘life’ issues,” Archbishop José Gomez wants the pro-choice vs. pro-life issue highlighted in the Express-News voter’s guide.

He states, “Society should not insist that people of faith be silent in the face of grave evil.”

Let’s remember a few basic facts. Half of all pregnancies in this country are unplanned, and half of the unplanned pregnancies end in abortion. One out of every three American women will have an abortion.

The leadership of the Catholic Church opposes contraception to prevent unplanned pregnancy.

The leadership of the Catholic Church opposes access to safe, legal abortion care.

When Archbishop Gomez points his finger at ”grave evil,” he’s pointing at women who make difficult decisions every day. He is, in fact, pointing at one-third of the female population.

Archbishop Gomez wants to speak for the innocent, by which he means fetuses with the future potential for independent, human life.

I’d like to hear him speak for living, breathing women.
