McCain and the torture issue

Digby discusses something I noticed and was bothered by, also. I have heard some Democrats say that, while they are voting for Obama, it "wouldn't be too bad" if McCain won because he's a "pretty good guy" who is "not as bad as Bush." This seems to be based on this myth of McCain's maverickiness and his so-called "principled" stand on the torture issue. Digby shows exactly what a crock all that is.
