I'm proud to say that Chris Dodd used to be my senator years ago when I lived in Connecticut. Lieberman, on the other hand, was always worthless in my opinion. It was a big mistake for Gore to tap him as a VP.
I agree, and I thought so at the time. Ever since Lieberman proposed the censure of Bill Clinton, I have been offended by his pursy-lipped (heh - is that a word? If not, it should be!) sanctimony. There was so much wrong with how Gore conducted his presidential campaign that is clear with 20/20 hindsight, but what's exasperating is that our current batch of contenders seem to be following much of the same bad formula. Perhaps they will react to the obvious response that Dodd's clear and principled leadership has drawn from us, the hoi polloi.
