Sunday afternoon football blogging

Rooting for my Cowboys - sorry, Freewheel!

This is so awesome. Congratulations and thank you Senator Dodd.

Majablog has two great posts up today - I highly recommend reading them both in full; they're long, but worth it.

Yeah, poor sod. Well, as we Dallas fans are wont to say: There's always next year.

Guess I'll have to root for the Packers now.

I must confess to being a terribly shallow football fan - if the Cowboys aren't playing, I'm just not all that interested. So the season is over for me and it's on to other things until next fall. I must say, though, that this is one of the most disappointing ends to a season that started out so promisingly (is that a word??) that I can recall.

And I must confess that listening to the football pundits blather on and on about how unstoppable Dallas would be reminded me about New Hampshire and Obama. My condolences to the Dallas fans, but it was just so, so lovely to see jimmy johnson (of the plastic hair) and terry bradshaw of the self amusement laughter) get something to sputter about.

Sports pundits are something else, aren't they? My god, if I hear another "expert" blather on to the likes of "You know, if Dallas is going to win this game, they have to GET THE BALL INTO THE END ZONE!" - well, I just tune it out at this point. Gawd.

OK, OK, my favorite anecdote on this topic: driving through Nebraska (to get out of there, silly!) I was listening to the U of N football game.

They were getting their asses kicked.

The pandering announcer said "You know, you take away those 4 fumbles and 2 interceptions and we're right back in the game!"

LOL!! Oh, god that is so true!! I guess the same is true for political pundits - they are just paid to MAKE NOISE, no matter what they are saying. Well, via Huffington, we find these Words of Wisdom about the Jessica Simpson effect. Pretty funny.
